Workshop on “Management and Organizational Infrastructures of Universities as a Basis of Quality Education”

On June 6-7, the Armenian National Agrarian University will host the “Management and Organizational Infrastructures of Universities as a Basis of Quality Education” workshop for education policymakers, university leaders and administrators.

The seminar is organised by the National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia in cooperation with Garegin Hambardzumyan, Higher Education Reform Expert (HERE), Head of International Relations Department of the Armenian National Agrarian University within the framework of Erasmus+ technical assistance missions.

Since its independence, the Armenian higher education sector has undergone significant changes and modifications bringing it closer to the European higher education area and increasing the competitiveness of HEIs. These changes necessitate the adoption of new approaches to university governance, leadership and management, to ensure the efficient and successful design and implementation of these reforms.

Throughout the workshop, participants will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of governance structures in the European higher education area.
  • Explore different governance models and their impact on university operations.
  • Develop understanding on necessary leadership skills for managing transformation within their institution.
  • Analyse their own university’s governance structure and decision-making structures and processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Learn from best practices from European universities.
  • Engage in collaborative discussions and problem-solving activities with colleagues facing similar challenges.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be better equipped to:

  • Implement best practices in university governance, management, and leadership.
  • Understand and apply the differences and roles of governance, leadership and management.
  • Develop strategies for improving their own leadership skills for navigating change and fostering a positive learning environment.
