Project “Mundus Talks”: Series of Webinars with Erasmus Mundus Armenian Alumni

Given the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and availability of online platforms to bring Erasmus Mundus Armenian students and alumni into spotlight, in May 2020 National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia launched a new project comprised of series of thematic webinars called “Mundus Talks”The project idea was widely discussed with Erasmus Mundus Armenian community members and  coordinated by the NEO based on its history of face to face consultations, information campaigns and pre-departure orientation seminars about Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Programmes.  Programme Officers Edith Soghomonyan (Erasmus Mundus MA LLL alumna 2010-2012) and Ani Torosyan designed the format of the webinar and its technical specifications, identified first speakers and jointly elaborated on the most demanded topics concerning Erasmus Mundus.

The first webinar took place on May 18, 2020 and hosted Tatev Derzyan (Erasmus Mundus EPS programme student 2019-2021) and Vahe Zargaryan (Erasmus Mundus EmLex programme student 2018-2020), who shared their experiences on choosing the right Erasmus Mundus program bridging it to the desired career. The speakers  provided post-selection tips on housing, visa,  as well as discussed formal, non-formal and informal learning components of Erasmus Mundus graduate education

Excited with the success of the 1st webinar, NEO facilitators were approached by other Erasmus Mundus students and alumni, who proposed new themes aimed at wider groups of potential applicants to Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Dergree scholarships as well as those who have tried and failed in previous applications.

On June 12, 2020, within the frames of “Mundus Talks 2”, Ani Hambardzumyan (Erasmus Mundus CLE programme student 2018-2020) shared her practical tips on writing a winning motivation letter and provided guidance on recommendation letters. The session was quite interactive, as many participants had an opportunity to ask their questions to the speaker during the LIVE.

NOTE: To continue this well established tradition in a structured and helpful format, NEO Project Officers have asked the participants of both webinars to come up with their ideas of what other important topics future “Mundus Talks” could touch upon based on most up to date trends and needs. Since its an ongoing and open call for “Mundus Talks” next webinar topics, you can always email us your ideas and needs to program@erasmusplus.am email address or share it through our facebook page (message)
