Establishment of new partnerships with foreign universities
On July 1-3, Lana Karlova, coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office coordinator in Armenia and Arpine Jraghatspanyan, program manager of the Office participated in the 5th International Staff Week 2024 “Enriching Mobility Experience” event held at the University of Economics – Varna (Bulgaria).
More than 50 representatives of academic and administrative staff of higher education institutions from 11 countries (Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Serbia, Ghana, Egypt, Jordan) participated in the event.
During the event, the participants had the chance to learn about each other’s activities, network with one another, as well as discuss topics related to Erasmus+ “International Credit Mobility”, “Capacity Building in Higher Education” and other actions. They also shared best practices for developing and implementing sustainability strategies in universities, internships in international organisations and universities, and other internationalisation issues.
Lana Karlova, the coordinator of the Office, presented to the participants the educational system of RA, focusing on the higher education sector, the level of internationalisation of universities, their involvement in the Erasmus+ program, and the perspectives of development and cooperation. She encouraged and invited the participants of the event to cooperate with Armenian higher education institutions and organisations within the Erasmus+ program and beyond.
The representatives of the Office established several new contacts and agreements with representatives from partner universities. These efforts particularly focused on building connections between the partner universities and respective Armenian universities, organising contact seminars, and inviting them to participate in the Office’s events and activities.
