Erasmus+ 2022 Information Days in Armenia
Following the launch of Erasmus+ Call of Proposals 2023, the National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia initiated information days in Yerevan and regions. Main target group of the meetings were the faculty, administrative staff, lecturers and students of Higher Educational Institutions and VETs.
During the meetings both in the regions and Yerevan, Lana Karlova, NEO AM Coordinator, presented the novelties, priorities, deadlines of the Erasmus+ Call 2023. Arevik Ohanyan, Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Expert, held a training on “Grants for Universities and VET institutions: what to know”. The founding President of the “Business and Education Partnership” Foundation Marina Zhamkochyan presented her best practice in applying for Erasmus+ Capacity Building projects for VET, answered the participants’ questions and gave practical advice on forming a consortium, finding partners and other issues.
Regional meetings were also targeted at informing students on Erasmus+ scholarship opportunities. Vard Ghukasyan, Programme Officer of the NEO AM, gave general information about the International Credit Mobility opportunities. Edith Soghomonyan, Education expert had a presentation on Erasmus Mundus Joint Master degree programs and shared her experience as an EMJMD alumna.
The launch of the Information days was given from Shirak region. The first meeting aimed at awareness rising and university faculty and students took place on 24 November, in cooperation with Shirak State University. Beneficiaries of universities and branches based in Gyumri were invited. The meeting, before proceeding to the main agenda, was officially opened by Yervand Serobyan, Rector of Shirak State University, and Lana Karlova, Coordinator of the National Office of the Erasmus+ Office in Armenia.
On 25 November, a special meeting for VET institutions was held jointly in collaboration with with the Shirak Regional Administration. Gevorg Ghumashyan, Head of the Education Division of the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the Shirak Regional Administration, and Lana Karlova, NEO AM Coordinator welcomed the participants.
On 28 November, the National Erasmus+ Office in cooperation with the Lori Regional Administration carried the Information Day for Lori region VET institutions. Hovhannes Avetisyan, Deputy Governor of Lori region, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of the Erasmus+ programme.
On 29 November, Vanadzor State University hosted the Information Day for the HEIs and branches based in Lori Region. Rustam Sahakyan, Rector of Vanadzor State University and Lana Karlova, NAO AM Coordinator delivered the opening speech of the meeting. The meeting target groups were both the faculty, administrative staff and students.
The next information meeting in Yerevan was organized in cooperation with the National Agrarian University of Armenia on 2 December. The target of the meeting were the representatives of VET institutions. Hrachya Zakoyan, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of the Armenian National Agrarian University, welcomed the participants and wished them a successful training and discussion.
The last day of the Information days was hosted by the National Polytechnic University of Armenia. Sargis Asatryants, Vice-rector for Internationalization and Reforms of the university, welcomed the attendees and wished good luck to all proposals that will be submitted under the current Call of Proposals. Kristine Gevorgyan, Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Expert, shared her best practice and tips on the new and so far only success in winning an Erasmus Mundus Design Measure project as a Coordinator. Arevik Ohanyan finalized the session with a discussion on project management tools, in particular, the logical framework matrix as a fit tool for grant proposal writing.
