Project Summary

GeoTAK project focuses on the reform of higher education joint postgraduate programmes in a transversal and interdisciplinary subject such as applied Geoinformation Technologies, which entails the modernization of education and implementation of EU higher education models.
It also aims to strengthen the links in research and innovation between academy, enterprise and administration at national – the creation of National Nodes of Research in GIT- and international level – through international workshops. 

The specific objectives of the project are:

• Identify research needs of Kyrgyzstan and Armenia in the field of Geoinformation Technologies (GIT)
• Create National Research Nodes and improve research laboratories in GIT
• Train trainers in relevant topics of GIT for regional development of innovation and environmental protection
• Provide HEI’s knowledge and skills in transversal topics of higher education (quality assurance, innovation and entrepreneurship, curricula development, etc.)
• Create interdisciplinary postgraduate programmes that focus research outputs on contemporary problems at regional and global scales
• Strength cooperation between university and industry in those topics identified as critical for the sustainable development and climate change
• Exchange and share experiences and perspectives between two countries, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, with lacks and potential in technical research development that are facing socio-economic challenges and need to stimulate new strategies in research and development.
