International workshop “Towards Equity and Inclusion in Higher Education: Identifying Key Challenges and Policy Responses in Armenia”

On November 5-6Towards Equity and Inclusion in Higher Education: Identifying Key Challenges and Policy Responses in Armenia” international workshop will be held at State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia (36 Isahakyan str.).

AIM

The workshop aims to:

  • raise awareness of the importance of ensuring equity and inclusion in higher education and to identify existing challenges in the Armenian and European Higher Education Area (EHEA) context
  • gain an in-depth understanding of existing EHEA policies, frameworks and good practices that can support equity and inclusion in higher education 
  • prepare the foundation for designing a roadmap to address key equity and inclusion priorities in Armenian higher education (including well-being in higher education and support for forcibly displaced people). 
TARGET AUDIENCE

The workshop is intended for representatives of higher education institutions (HEIs), policymakers, psychologists, student representatives, as well as faculty members and staff involved in student support services, particularly those responsible for supporting students with fewer opportunities.

SPEAKERS

The speakers of the workshop are EU experts Ninoslav Šćukanec Schmidt (bio), Executive Director of the Institute for the Development of Education (Croatia), and Thomas Farnell (bio), Higher Education Policy Expert at the same institute.

WORKING LANGUAGE

The working languages of the workshop are English and Armenian (simultaneous interpretation will be provided).

The seminar is organised by the National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia in cooperation with Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) Ruzanna Minasyan, head of Academic Programme Development Division at State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia and Kristine Gevorgyan, coordinator of master’s programs at Yerevan State University Center for European Studies.
