Information Session on Jean Monnet Activities
On 4 February 2016 an Information Session on Jean Monnet Activities was held at Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University. The aim of the meeting was to inform academic stakeholders about Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Activities, to present the application procedure and provide good practice examples.
Jean Monnet Activities aim at promoting excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies. European Union studies comprise the study of Europe in its entirety with particular emphasis on the European integration process in both its internal and external aspects. Jean Monnet Actions provide various grants, one of which allows university academic staff (teaching staff) to develop 40-hour short modules that will be taught during 3 consecutive years.
The priority subject areas are:
- EU and Comparative Regionalism Studies
- EU Communication and Information Studies
- EU Economic Studies
- EU Historical Studies
- EU Intercultural Dialogue Studies
- EU Interdisciplinary Studies
- EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies
- EU Legal Studies
- EU Political and Administrative Studies
However, Jean Monnet modules can be also taught in crosscutting subject areas that laterally or comparatively integrate EU dimension: sociology, philosophy, religion, geography, literature, art, environmental studies, etc..
The deadline for applications to Jean Monnet Activities is 25 February 2016.
